P1、Ferguson protests: Another night of chaos, captured live on social media
Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters during another night of violence and unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, on Sunday, the eighth consecutive day of demonstrations following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, by Darren Wilson, a white police officer.
After a few nights of relative calm in the tension-filled city, the situation ratcheted up again: tear gas was unleashed on protesters and people in the media; officers in riot gear wielded assault weapons; people in the street hurled Molotov cocktails at police officers. Finally, Gov. Jay Nixon decided local authorities were losing control of the situation, and he ordered in the National Guard.
And, as has been the case since the beginning of the protests, you didn't need television to see what was happening on the ground in Ferguson. On social media, scores of journalists from local and national media outlets as well as area residents captured the chaotic scene as it unfolded.

P4、FM Bishop: Australia, Indonesia to Repair Ties
August 19, 2014 1:29 AM
Australia says it has agreed to repair ties with Indonesia that were damaged last year following accusations of Australian spying.
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Tuesday that defense, intelligence and border security cooperation will resume under the terms of a new deal.
Indonesia downgraded its relationship with Australia following reports in November that Canberra tapped the phone lines of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, his wife, and other officials.
Relations have slowly improved since then, but Indonesia has been seeking formal reassurances that Australia will not spy on its leaders.
Bishop said she and Prime Minister Tony Abbott will soon travel to Indonesia to sign a code of conduct, the details of which have not been released.
Even before the scandal, Indonesia-Australia relations were strained over Prime Minister Abbott's policy of turning boats of Australia-bound asylum seekers back to Indonesia.
